The South Florida Fair, Part II

The previous blog described an evening at Palm  Beach Counties South Florida Fair, an annual event that draws over 650,000 men, woman and children over the last two weeks every January.

I went back to the fair last evening to use my imagination, ideas, and camera skills to record a pictorial album of the Fair's midway.  

At night, the Farris wheels and various rides can be spectacular.

An evening at the South Florida Fair...

Late Saturday afternoon and evening we attended the annual South Florida Fair in West Palm Beach.

Our purpose in going was to meet up with our photography friends from Delray Beach's Old School Square.  Over 90 photographer schoolmates registered to meet up with the group.

The Fair runs the last two weeks every January and over 650,000 people attend.  It seems that a half million decided to attend with us Saturday.

We had fun and the subject matter abounded....  Have a look!

The birds are back !

What happens when the weather in the North turns really cold?  
Man and creature are driven South!

People have been drifting southward and not far behind are the birds.

Another day (evening) and another art show!

With the winter months in south Florida comes an abundance of excellent art shows. 

It might be a single gallery showing the works of one of their premier world renown artist. It might be a spectacular venue, like the mega yacht Seafair in Miami, showing the works of many artists. It might be a huge building like the Palm Beach County Convention Center hosting Art Palm Beach with displays of many galleries from around the world showing the talents of many artists, whether their work is sculpture, painting or photography.  

Art Palm Beach,  a contemporary show,  runs four days. There is a cocktail lounge, Expresso Bar and Sushi Bar on the exhibit floor. There are over one hundred galleries exhibiting. Prices on individual works run into six figures. 

Its a fun evening.  There is something for everyone, we think! Take a look!

 What impressed us the most with Art Palm Beach were the various techniques, materials, styles employed by the various arts whether their medium was painting, sculpture or photography...

Plastics, LED lighting, metalic paints and paper, glass, wood, bronze, gold, silver, etc. are all being used in unique ways....

We will be back next year !

A fun evening in Miami's Art & Entertainment District !

Thursday evening we took a trek south to Miami's Art and Entertainment District to attend the opening evening at the Miami International Art Fair aboard the mega yacht Seafair tied up at Bayfront Park.

Over 30 international art dealers were exhibiting the work of contemporary international and emerging artist at this five day event.

While we enjoyed the spectacular Miami waterfront venue plus the art, whether it be painting, photography or sculpture, we enjoyed the people watching and mingling just as  much!

It was a fun evening.  Enjoy the sights brought to you through our camera lens!
