Not your typical dining out !

Over the past few months we have mentioned how much we have enjoyed getting to know nearby Delray Beach. Delray is a community not passed over by the 1950's. The narrow tree lined streets, the quaint shops, art gallery's and restaurants are part of the charm of today's Delray.

Last evening, Delray held it's 4th Annual Savor the Avenue.  Speaking of this event, it is difficult not to delve in hyperbole.   Beautiful, spectacular, fun, delicious, unique all fit the occasion. The "Avenue" is downtown Delray Beach's Atlantic Avenue which is home to several dozen excellent restaurants. On any given day or night, Atlantic Ave. is a "top of the list" culinary destination. Last evening, it was much more!

The largest dining table in the USA was arranged on Atlantic Avenue. Eighteen restaurants set up long beautifully decorated  tables, offered spectacular four course menus and hosted around 1,000 people.

Of course, we were there and captured these photographs.  Clicking with your mouse on any photo will enlarge it for better viewing!

The venue, weather, ambiance, wait service, drinks, menu, and fellowship all made for a memorable evening.

Welcome cousins!!!

We had the great pleasure this weekend to host Connie's cousins.  Marylyn and Debi from Savannah.  Then Sunday, from Boca Raton and Boynton Beach, Aunt Jo, cousins Joan, Joanne, Mary and husband Nick.  We even made a speaker ph call to cousin Maryann in Staten Island!

It was a time to catch up on news of each other's families, reminiscing old times plus talking about the present and future.  Let's do it again!

Tropical beauty!!!

In conjunction with the "Art of Seeing" class, we joined an associated on line "Meet Up" group.

The "Meet Up" group's web site may be found at  http://www.meetup.com/Photography-The-Art-of-Seeing/

This group conducts monthly photo contest amongst all levels of student photographers plus organizing and running "photo shoots" at various venue in the area.

Yesterday, we went to such a photo shoot at Mount's Botanical Gardens, a tropical and sub tropical paradise in suburban West Palm Beach,  just west of the WPBI Airport. In addition, to native Florida trees, shrubs, plants, flower's, vegetables and fruits, this 14 acre site has the same from six continents of the world.  Mount's far exceeded our expectations.

Take a look at some of our work.  We were happy at what we were able to accomplish.
