Not your typical dining out !

Over the past few months we have mentioned how much we have enjoyed getting to know nearby Delray Beach. Delray is a community not passed over by the 1950's. The narrow tree lined streets, the quaint shops, art gallery's and restaurants are part of the charm of today's Delray.

Last evening, Delray held it's 4th Annual Savor the Avenue.  Speaking of this event, it is difficult not to delve in hyperbole.   Beautiful, spectacular, fun, delicious, unique all fit the occasion. The "Avenue" is downtown Delray Beach's Atlantic Avenue which is home to several dozen excellent restaurants. On any given day or night, Atlantic Ave. is a "top of the list" culinary destination. Last evening, it was much more!

The largest dining table in the USA was arranged on Atlantic Avenue. Eighteen restaurants set up long beautifully decorated  tables, offered spectacular four course menus and hosted around 1,000 people.

Of course, we were there and captured these photographs.  Clicking with your mouse on any photo will enlarge it for better viewing!

The venue, weather, ambiance, wait service, drinks, menu, and fellowship all made for a memorable evening.

So nice to share the event with you. You got some really good photos considering you didn't take the heavy-duty equipment.
